Cabinet the Bretagne can help you with every aspect of the process of buying a house in Brittany. We will start looking in our own files to see if there is a house that meets your requirements. If this is not the case, we will contact other estate agents or notaries in the area, which will considerably increase the chance of you finding a house.
When we find your dream house, the seller and you should agree on the sales price. Cabinet de Bretagne can help you with this negotiation process. Because of our knowledge of the housing market and the fact that Cabinet de Bretagne is aware of the typical French habits involved in buying a house, we can reach a favourable price for you. |

The moment you and the seller agree on the price, a purchase contract will be established, a so-called Compromis de Vente. We will take care of this step in the process as well. Either we will make the compromis, or we will have it done by another agent. As soon as the compromis is signed, a legal reflection period of 7 days becomes effective. After these 7 days, and if you have not cancelled the agreement, you will have to transfer 10% of the total amount to an account of the notary, who will take care of all activities from that moment on. Generally a period of two up to three months will follow before the final transfer takes place.
Cabinet de Bretagne continues to advise you during the whole process, up to and including the signature of the final contract at the notary. All relevant questions will be answered. At the moment you enter your newly bought house, you will have electricity and running water, because we will arrange this for your. And when later on you receive, for example, an incomprehensible letter from the French tax office, we will help and advise you: when you buy a house in our region, you have the advantage of not living too far away from us. In short, Cabinet de Bretagne is your reliable partner during the whole process of searching, buying and legal administration of the house you are looking to buy in Brittany! |
